Learning, as we all know, is part of life. The workplace is considered a legitimate environment for learning new skills and gaining knowledge that enhances an employee’s morale and encourages their participation in work-related activities. One can even say that work and learning are synonymous as when employees invest time in work activities their experiences accumulate. They get a better understanding of their role in the organization and its importance. In today’s fast-moving corporate environment, learning new skills and honing pre-existing capabilities is essential, and without the right tools, an employee may fall behind.  Corporate employees must continuously modify and update their working habits to sustain competitive advantage, remain employable and perform well. Isolation - the worst weapon used by bullies in office

The worst cruelty that can be inflicted on a human being is isolation. - Sukarno (Politician, Indonesia)

Isolation adversely affects a person's mental status so much that the person starts behaving in a manner unacceptable to society. "Isolating the targeted employee" is the worst weapon ever used by bullies in an office environment. The introverts are mostly affected.

The more the affected person tries to comply with the situation the more isolated the person becomes. If the victim denies any false charge against him/her the higher authority thinks the person is lying. If the victim protests against any bad behavior, she received from the bullies, the person faces more verbal abuse of the highest authority. Whatever the victimized employee does to prove his/her point of view goes wrong and against that employee. Wrong handling of the situation aggravates the tension between the affected employee and the other office colleagues who misunderstand the victim and consider the person as a trouble creator.

Team leaders and managers should be trained in such a manner so that they can identify these bullies in their teams. They should learn to understand the psychology of these people in order to handle them properly. Such pieces of training are hardly ever given to team leaders in our country. Likewise, the affected employee should be mentored and guided properly by HR.
